Zak Helmick

With over 13 years of experience in the architecture and design industry, Zak brings a passion for creativity, thoughtful design, and strategic problem-solving to every project. After a decade with Alliance Architecture (now Studio Alliance) in Washington, DC, and three years at Gensler in Chicago, he joins PBD eager to contribute meaningful design solutions while continuing to grow within a collaborative studio environment. Zak’s foundation in design began during his college years with roles at PCM+D, Don Hoerr & Sons, and as a Research Assistant for the Solar Decathlon. Throughout his career, he has focused on building strong relationships, delivering impactful spaces, and fostering a team-first approach. At PBD, he looks forward to sharing insights, forming new connections, and creating thoughtful environments that make a difference.
