231 S. LaSalle | Suite 17 reimagines the spec suit

231 S. LaSalle | Suite 17 reimagines the spec suite through the lens of how people naturally move through the workday. Located in the historic Central Standard Building in Chicago’s Loop, the 37,500 square foot workplace is designed to balance moments of focus, collaboration, and pause.

Arched white oak openings define a clear circulation spine while maintaining openness and visual connection throughout the suite. Warm wood millwork, veined stone surfaces, dark metal accents, and sculptural lighting create a material palette that feels both refined and inviting.

The floor unfolds through a series of distinct yet connected zones, including a welcoming reception, a café with marble topped bar and banquette seating, collaborative lounges, and quieter library spaces. A shuffleboard court and soft seating areas introduce moments of play, while acoustic panels and secluded seating provide places to slow down.

Designed by Partners by Design and leased by Telos Group on behalf of Beacon Capital Partners, Suite 17 supports teams of up to 228 with a range of environments that encourage movement, connection, and focus throughout the day.

Timber. Transit. Technology. T3 Sterling Road in T

Timber. Transit. Technology. T3 Sterling Road in Toronto's Lower Junction was designed around all three: mass timber construction, a Transit Score of 100, and WiredScore Gold certification across 415,000 square feet of creative office space. PBD served as the interior amenities and office designer, shaping the entry lobby, fitness center, rooftop terraces, tenant collaboration areas, and ground-floor retail into spaces that feel as considered as the building itself. Drawing on the Junction Triangle's graffiti art heritage and manufacturing history, PBD commissioned local artists including Trevor Wheatley, Dahae Song, Elise Goodhoofd, and PERU143 to bring murals, sculptures, and banners into the elevator lobbies, rooftop, and building exterior. Shipping containers were reimagined as tenant common areas. Flexible doors create space for both focused work and communal gathering. This Arbor Day, it's a good reminder that timber isn't just a building material. In the right hands, it's a philosophy.

Adyen's Chicago office, located in the Fulton Mark

Adyen's Chicago office, located in the Fulton Market neighborhood, was designed to create a workspace that feels subtly branded and uniquely connected.

The nearly 97,000-square-foot space spans multiple floors and emphasizes collaboration and well-being, blending open work areas with a variety of specialized rooms like focus spaces, demo and training rooms, to support both focused and team work.

Amenities like a commercial kitchen with daily catered lunch, a staffed espresso and juice bar, outdoor terrace, and a pantry tap system for drinks enhance the employee experience and encourage informal interaction. Inclusive and practical touches including a parents' room, wellness room, all-gender restrooms, and 24/7 bike storage speak to a people-centered workplace.

On the 8th floor, the speakeasy stands apart from everything else in the building. Dark walnut millwork, a marble-topped bar with a brass footrail, amber cove lighting, and backlit banana-print panels give the room a warm, deliberate theatricality, a space for the team to gather after hours and for Adyen to host clients in a setting that feels anything but corporate.

Taken together, the design fosters connection, creativity, and comfort for a growing team deeply rooted in Chicago's tech ecosystem.

@nbcchicago and @telemundochicago Chicago now oper

@nbcchicago and @telemundochicago Chicago now operate from a single, unified facility at @nbctower

PBD served as architect of record alongside our @oneglobaldesign partner @designrepublicpartners and @clunegc on the 70,000 SF renovation, which consolidated four fragmented floors into one and reimagined the building's second floor as a fully integrated, shoot-anywhere broadcast environment.

Drawing inspiration from 30 Rock, the open, industrial design replaces siloed offices with a newsroom built for the way media actually moves today.

A 40x60-foot LED wall and 20+ camera-ready locations are distributed across the floor, supported by five broadcast studios, two podcast suites, and a cloud-based production platform that lets teams serve audiences across broadcast, streaming, and social simultaneously.

Informal collaboration zones, a game room, and a hidden speakeasy round out a workplace built for the full range of how people work and spend time together.

Materiality and geometric motifs were woven throug

Materiality and geometric motifs were woven through the space with intention, from large-scale terrazzo at the base of the stair to an oversized beam in the cafe to a finely detailed rib pattern in the boardroom.

The same design language, played at different scales, creates a consistent thread across all three floors.

Designed by Piero Lissoni, the nearly 9,000-square-foot space brings together five fully tailored kitchen environments, 20-foot islands, and more than 50 ultra-premium appliances in a gallery-like setting that lets the craft of each piece speak for itself. After 20 years in the same space, how do you help an organization feel like itself again in a place it has never been before?

For this Chicago nonprofit, the answer lived in the details. An interconnecting stair that makes three floors feel like one.
Operable partitions that let the space respond to the day. A sculptural light installation that coils from reception through a branded corridor, pulling people through the building and toward each other. A cafe with booths, communal tables, and a terrace designed for the kind of conversations that actually move things forward.

This organization has called Chicago home for more than two decades. Their new headquarters honors that history while making room for what comes next. We are proud to have been part of this chapter.

We are truly thrilled to share our latest project.

This confidential client’s new headquarters occupies the uppermost floors of a landmark building and is designed to reflect a balance of legacy, functionality, and modern sophistication. The workplace is open, light-filled, and highly transparent supporting a wide range of activities from daily work to executive meetings and social gatherings. Expansive views of Lake Michigan, operable windows, and access to a rooftop terrace bring a strong connection to the outdoors.

Key amenities include café services and catering spaces, a flexible town hall-style lunchroom, an executive suite with a dedicated dining area and lounge, and a signature corridor that showcases historical archives alongside integrated digital displays. With a thoughtful focus on accessibility and safety, the space accommodates a wide range of user needs, particularly for an older visiting population. Although the client has downsized its real estate footprint, the new space is intentional, efficient, and future-facing— designed to elevate both day-to-day experience and long-term mission.

Revantage's Chicago workplace is built on a foundation of material intentionality. Steel, wood, and concrete are deployed not as aesthetic choices but as declarative ones, grounding the environment in the physical reality of real estate and the tangibility of the built world.

Environmental branding by @spark.chicago draws from Chicago's architectural canon: abstracted skyline geometries, commissioned artwork, and dimensional installations that don't simply reference the city's legacy but actively engage it.

The warmth and smooth curves of Suite 6600 at @aoncenter for @telosgroupllc establish an intimate, jewel box quality throughout this tenant suite. Warm woods, rich terra cotta hues, and a hospitality-forward sensibility transform the space from a conventional workplace into an experiential, collaborative environment. Completing the hospitality atmosphere are two massage chairs in the amenity co-working room that, our team can personally attest, are the finest amenity we've delivered to date.
