A moody palette and layered lighting create a sense of calm, while natural textures and warm furnishings bring a residential feel. Built-in shelving showcases curated objects and books, adding personality and visual depth. Along the perimeter, cozy lounge seating and quiet nooks offer places to read or recharge, complemented by a central amenity pantry that encourages casual interaction and collaboration.

In Palm Beach Gardens, we designed a 24,000 SF workplace that’s as forward-thinking as the technology it represents. The space is shaped around connection and flexibility — with a central Town Hall for hybrid collaboration, vibrant reception to welcome visitors, and layered zones that support everything from focused engineering work to spontaneous idea-sharing.

A mix of warm wood tones, textured surfaces, and biophilic elements brings comfort and depth, while branded moments, a heritage wall, and an “Engineering Playground” celebrate innovation and identity. From the boardroom to the labs, every detail is built to evolve with the company’s future.

Partners by Design was engaged to design three dis

Partners by Design was engaged to design three distinct spec suites within a downtown high-rise, each with its own identity and leasing strategy—ranging from bold and playful to refined and professional.

This video highlights just one: a dramatic three-level atrium suite designed to attract a creative tenant. A vibrant deep blue portal sets the tone, leading to warm, neutral finishes and colorful moments throughout. At its heart, a soaring atrium with cascading gold and rose-gold lighted coils creates a showpiece town hall with panoramic city views, surrounded by conference and huddle rooms that bring the perimeter to life.

Stay tuned for Suites 2 & 3, each exploring a different strategy for collaboration, connection, and workplace identity.

About the Project
The Greater Chicago Food Depository’s Nourish Project represents a bold vision for food access, community resilience, and social impact. Phase II of this campus expansion delivers a LEED Silver-certified facility that doubles production for Chicago’s Community Kitchens, preparing thousands of meals daily for older adults, people with disabilities, and those requiring medically tailored diets. The project not only alleviates hunger but also creates living-wage jobs and builds partnerships with local businesses to expand food access and economic opportunity across Chicago.

All are welcome to join us at Designight 2025 on Thursday, September 18, 2025, when this award will be conferred. The celebration will be held at the Harris Theater for Music and Dance and the Harris Theater Rooftop Terrace in Millennium Park.

What’s possible when tradition meets innovation? At Lake Forest Country Day School, Partners by Design created a new hub of ingenuity designed to spark curiosity and empower the next generation of makers.

The Innovation Lab, Think Tank, and LEGO Lab invite students from kindergarten through 8th grade to experiment with 3D printing, CNC milling, robotics, podcasting, digital media, and more. Flexible layouts, writable walls, glass and metal facades, and exposed building systems all encourage hands-on learning and discovery.

This honor celebrates our work with the @fooddepository on its transformative expansion, a project designed to advance food equity and strengthen community resilience across the region. Partners by Design created three distinct spec suites within Chicago’s AON Center, each tailored to appeal to a range of tenants while maintaining a shared standard of design excellence. Varying in layout and feel, the suites include flexible conference room sizes, open collaboration zones, and unique café and pantry configurations that cater to different working styles. One suite features a speakeasy-style lounge—an unexpected and memorable element that enhances the tenant experience. Curated artwork, custom millwork, and subtle changes in architectural detailing bring individual character to each suite while ensuring cohesion across the floor. The result is a refined, branded workplace that feels both timeless and vibrant.
