Partners by Design was engaged to lead architectural and design efforts for the third expansion of this trading and technology firm’s existing space. Drawing on the industrial base-building design, juxtaposed with the client’s desire to have a warm and welcoming space, PBD’s design response included the blending of the existing space with a flexible, experimental environment that nurtured cross-functional collaboration. Areas dedicated to socialization and spontaneous interaction were enhanced by a custom mural by local artist, Lie (Jay Turner). A barista and café anchors the space, providing a needed and desired communal area that casually brings together employees seated in different areas around the company’s office.
